Privacy Policy

Full Gospel Assembly (FGA) is committed to protecting your personal data. This Personal Data Protection Policy is issued by the FGA Board of Directors in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2012.

Use of your Personal Information

FGA collects identifiable information for the following purposes;

  1. Providing pastoral care;
  2. Teaching and training in discipleship and disciple-making;
  3. Connecting you to a small life group as part of your discipleship journey;
  4. Organising events to support your discipleship growth;
  5. Organising church retreats and camps;
  6. Informing you of any discipleship and/or disciple-making events, programs or training;
  7. Maintaining the membership register of members of the church, members of small groups and partners of the church.

Collection of your Personal Information

Your personal information may be collected during any of the following occasions either manually or electronically;

  1. You complete a new-comer or visitor’s card
  2. You request to join a small life group
  3. You sign up for baptism or to join as a member/partner of the church
  4. You sign up for the various programs and activities organised by FGA
  5. When you attend events organised by FGA
  6. When you make a pledge/offering/donation to the church
  7. When you submit your personal information for employment purposes
  8. When you submit your personal information as a volunteer and for church ministry purposes e.g. prisons ministry.
  9. When you volunteer to give public testimony.
  10. When you apply for financial assistance from the church or enrol for the church’s residential programmes.
  11. And at any other activity or event that will enable us to serve you better.

Use and Disclosure of Your Personal Information

The church generally uses or discloses your personal data for the following purposes:

  1. Conducting and organising church activities which include services, courses, activities and events,
  2. Church administration and managing relationships with members,
  3. Community and voluntary welfare services provided by the church,
  4. Internal and external communication and publications,
  5. Delivering information regarding news, publications and events,
  6. Internal record keeping.

While the church will take reasonable steps to protect your personal data against unauthorised disclosure, subject to the provisions of any applicable law, relevant portions of the collected data may be disclosed, for the purposes listed above to the following:

  1. Church staff and volunteers,
  2. Agents, contractors or third-party service providers who provide services to the church such as website maintenance, courier services, membership data maintenance vendor and other operational services relating to church events such as camps and retreats,
  3. The church’s professional advisers such as auditors and lawyers,
  4. Relevant government regulators, statutory boards or authorities or law enforcement agencies to comply with any laws, rules and regulations imposed by any governmental authority,
  5. Any other party to whom you authorise the church to disclose your personal data.

FGA may also disclose your personal information, without notice, to entities outside of FGA if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

a) conform to the law or comply with any legal process served on FGA;
b) protect and defend the rights or property of FGA; and,
c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of FGA, or the public.

Consent

By submitting your personal data to the church, you agree and consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data by the church for some or all of the purposes mentioned above.

If you provide us with personal information relating to a third party (e.g. information of your spouse, children, parents or relatives), you represent to us that you have obtained the consent of the third party to provide us with their personal data for the respective purposes.

Retention of your Personal Information

Your personal data will be retained by the church as long as necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes stated above or is required to satisfy legal, regulatory or accounting requirements.

Security of your Personal Information 

FGA secures your personal information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. FGA secures the personally identifiable information you provide in a reasonably secure environment, protected from unauthorised access, use or disclosure.

While security cannot be guaranteed, we strive to protect the security of personal data and will constantly review and enhance our information security measures.

Updating Your Personal Information

You will have access to update your personal information by sending an email to the church at info@fgasingapore.org or by filling in the personal particulars update form which is available on request from the church office.

Accuracy of your Personal Information

With regard to the accuracy of the information, the church will do whatever it can to ensure the accuracy of the information provided. However, it will be incumbent on you to ensure that your personal information is updated and correct.

The church will conduct an annual verification exercise during which we will encourage you to check your particulars to ensure accuracy.

Request to remove your Personal Information from our records

You may at any time withdraw any consent given in respect of the collection, use or disclosure of your personal information by giving prior notice in the form of a formal written request addressed to the Data Protection Officer.

In the event you withdraw your consent to the church for the processing of your personal data, FGA shall cease to process your personal data within 30 working days of receiving your written withdrawal request.

Please note that once consent is withdrawn, FGA may not be able to fulfil our services to you.

Changes to our Personal Data Protection Policy

We will be reviewing this Policy from time to time and will update this page with any changes to this policy with the effective date of the changed policy. If at any point in time, any significant changes to our policy are made, we will notify you by email about the change and you will be given the opportunity to withdraw your consent to your personal information held by us.

To request for your personal particulars to be updated by FGA

  1. Please complete the personal particulars update form that is provided at the church office.
  2. Upon completion, please submit the form to the staff at the church office.
  3. FGA will then proceed to update your personal particulars upon receipt of your form within 7 days of receiving your form.
