INTRODUCTION

When we think about God’s mission, we often assume it is for someone else—missionaries, pastors or people who seem more gifted than we are. But the Bible tells a different story.

God’s plan of salvation has never been limited to one nation or one people. From the beginning of creation to the end of Revelation, God’s desire has always been for His salvation to reach the ends of the earth. That plan was fulfilled in Jesus, the true Servant, who became the light of the world and brought salvation to all people.

Today, that same mission continues through the Church. As followers of Jesus, we are not only recipients of God’s grace, but we are also participants in His mission. Wherever God has placed us, at home, in our workplaces, schools, neighbourhoods or communities, He invites us to reflect His love and point others to Him.

DISCUSSION

1. Besides K-pop, what is one thing that has become truly global?
   
   And what comes to mind when you hear that God’s salvation was always meant to go global?
   
   
2. Read Isaiah 49:1-6. Isaiah describes God’s servant as someone who was called, prepared, and sent to bring God’s salvation not only to Israel, but to the nations. While this prophecy points ultimately to Jesus, we also see God’s heart to involve His people in His mission.
   

   a. Verse 6 says, “It is too small a thing…” Why do you think God extended His mission beyond Israel to “the ends of the earth”? What does this reveal about God’s heart for every person, regardless of nationality, culture, or background?

   b. The servant experienced disappointment and wondered if His work had been in vain (v.4), yet He continued to trust God. Have you ever felt discouraged because your efforts to serve God or care for someone did not seem to make a difference? How does this passage encourage you to trust God with the results?

3. Read Acts 13:47-48. Paul and Barnabas quoted Isaiah 49 to explain why they were bringing the Gospel to the Gentiles. They understood that God’s mission did not end with Jesus’ resurrection but continued through His followers.
   

   a. God’s invitation to be a light is not only for missionaries or church leaders, but it is for every believer. Where has God already placed you to influence others? Who are the people you meet regularly but may have overlooked?

   b. Sharing our faith is not always about preaching or having all the answers. It often begins with building relationships, showing kindness, and simply being present. Think about someone who influenced your journey of faith. What did they do that reflected Jesus to you? How can you intentionally become that kind of person for someone else?

4. Read Revelation 7:9-10. John sees a vision of people from every nation, tribe, people, and language worshipping before God’s throne. This reminds us that one day God’s mission will be complete.
   
   a. Every faithful act of obedience today becomes part of the greater story that God is writing across the nations. How does this give you hope when serving God or sharing your faith feels difficult or unnoticed?
   
   b. God’s Kingdom includes people from every nation, culture and background. Is there someone from another nationality or culture whom God has placed in your life? Is there anyone or any group of people you find difficult to love, understand, or reach? How does this picture of heaven challenge the way you see and respond to people who are different from you?

WHAT WILL YOU DO

From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible tells one story: God desires all people to know Him. His plan has never been limited to one nation or one group of people. Through Jesus, the true Servant, God’s promise was fulfilled, and today He continues His mission through His Church.

As followers of Jesus, we are not only saved by the Gospel; we are also sent with the Gospel. God calls each of us to be faithful where He has placed us. Every conversation, every act of kindness and every step of obedience can become part of God’s greater story.

This week, ask God to show you one person He is calling you to reach. Pray for them, look for an opportunity to encourage or serve them, and trust God to use your faithful obedience to make an eternal difference.
