INTRODUCTION

Discipleship is a lifelong journey shaped by training, modelling, and influence. A disciple is marked by:

  • Devotion to Christ – Total surrender and obedience to His call.
  • Imitating His Way – Following Christ’s example of submission and mission.
  • Serving Others – With humility, love, and regardless of the outcome.
  • Committed to Community – Be involved in community, such as LifeGroups, and focus on building up the body of Christ, not tearing it down.
  • Investing in Growth – In our spiritual walk and others.
  • Proclaiming the Gospel – Boldly sharing our testimony.
  • Living in Obedience – Saying “Yes” when the Lord leads.
  • Empowered by the Holy Spirit – Relying on His guidance.

AN E1R1 REFLECTION

“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”  – 2 Tim 4:2-3

Paul’s charge in 2 Timothy 4:2 reminds us that evangelism is not about convenience; it’s about obedience. Whether the moment feels right or not, we are called to be ready to share the gospel with truth and love.

This means speaking with boldness, but also with compassion, correcting when needed, yet always encouraging, with patience and wisdom. It is not just about what we say, but how we live and love that makes the gospel visible.

Ask yourself:

  • Am I ready to speak when God prompts me?
  • Do I share the truth with both courage and grace?

Lord, help me be ready in and out of season, to speak with love, live with purpose, and trust You to work through me. Amen.
