In our fallen nature, we cannot comprehend the things of God. Even when Jesus stood among them, many could not recognise Him as the One sent from heaven. Instead, they rejected, despised, and sought to remove Him. We need divine revelation for our spiritual eyes to be opened so we may truly know Him as Lord and Saviour.
Since Adam and Eve’s rebellion, the whole world has been under the sway of Satan’s kingdom. Each generation has drifted further from the knowledge of God, leaving humanity with eyes blinded and hearts hardened.
Some argue that they cannot believe in God because they cannot see Him, yet Scripture tells us that God’s eternal power and divine nature are clearly revealed through creation and His Word. The problem is not a lack of evidence, but the suppression of truth through human sin and pride. No one can come to an accurate knowledge of God through arguments or reasoning alone.
What we need is the Spirit’s illumination. Only the Holy Spirit can pierce through the blindness of our hearts, reveal Jesus as the Son of God, and draw us to respond to His love. Let us humbly ask the Spirit to open our eyes to see Christ for who He truly is.

Arguments and reasoning alone cannot bring us to true knowledge of God. We need the Spirit to open our eyes.
